- Do the guides carry guns?
- Absolutely not!
- Do we hunt on private land?
- All of JV hunting ground is privately owned and farmed for our exclusive use. It
is actually illegal in South Dakota to guide hunters on public land which some
outfits occasionally do.
- Is blaze orange required?
- One blaze orange article of clothing is only required for deer hunting packages.
For pheasant, turkey, and prairie dog hunting it is not required by law, but we
highly encourage wearing either a blaze cap or vest. We can provide these garments
for you.
- Can I bring a dog?
- We encourage people to bring dogs for pheasant hunting. There is more joy hunting
with your own dog. We have kennels available during your stay. We strongly
recommend for deer, turkey, and prairie dog hunts that dogs be left at home,
because dogs are illegal to use in big game hunts.
- How do we get the birds/deer/turkey home?
- Many of our hunters opt to have the birds/trophies shipped once they return home.
Some will take a cooler back on the airplane on departure, others choose to donate
part of the birds/trophies and take a smaller amount with them.
