Are you a hunting enthusiasts? Looking to hunt newly opened hunting ground? The South Dakota pheasant hunting season begins the third weekend of October and continues through the first week of January. Looking to bring a new twist Thanksgiving dinner? The spring season application process opens in mid January with a late February deadline. The tradition start for the season is the second Saturday in April, running through the third Sunday in May.
The fall season application process opens in mid June with a late July deadline. The season
traditionally runs from October 1st through January 31st. This season covers most of the state.

Tired of going to the gun club and shooting stationary targets? The package contains all the neccessary options to make even the bravest prairie dog tail twitch. Most of our hunters prefer to use a .22 caliber gun during the hunt, and we allow any pistol or rifle up to a .243 size. The South Dakota prairie dog season is open all year long, but do to the seasonal changes the best available hunting time is late Spring through early Fall. Learn More |
